OK, I confess. I tried G-Mesh. I'm not crazy about the results, but I felt it was worth the try. My problem with an image like this is it relies on the photo completely. As you can see the lack of hand and face details really hurts this. Not to mention that I feel I ended up with a far inferior illustration in comparison to the original. I hope those using the G-Mesh technique use it sparingly and allow themselves to grow as an artist.
